Campaign Success & Thank You

Extremely proud to call our Liberal campaign in Cowichan-Malahat-Langford a success. When Luke Krayenhoff became the candidate, with 3 weeks to go until the election, I was brought on board as Campaign Manager to helm an electoral endeavour with no funds, no time, and hardly any volunteers.

In 21 days, we took the Liberals from being in a distant 4th place with a mere 6% of the vote in 2011 to 2nd place with 24% of the vote. A 300% increase is something to be proud of, and a performance worth celebrating alongside the new Liberal majority government.

Thank you to those few volunteers who stuck with us despite the momentous uphill battle that we faced together. In the end, it is your dedication to the party that prevailed, and it was reflected in Monday’s election results. I have no doubts that next time, building upon this terrific base, we will send a Liberal from Vancouver Island to Parliament!

Get Out And Vote

I’ve had most election day roles over the years: I have been a scrutineer, I have phonebanked, and I have knocked on doors for last minute GOTV efforts, but never before have I driven senior citizens to vote. It is actually a lot of fun!

Big lines at some of the polling stations in Langford today! But if Thomas, the ailing 98 year old man I just escorted to the poll can gather up enough strength to leave the house and cast a ballot, then you sure as hell can… Millennials, I’m looking at you.

GET OUT. AND VOTE.

Great media day today running the Luke Krayenhoff for Cowichan-Malahat-Langford campaign, with appearances on CFAX Radio and Shaw TV.

One of the producers at Shaw came over to say hello, remembering me from the municipal election last year. She said it was nice to see a familiar face each election cycle. At the end of the chat I said “Have a good year and a half, and I’ll see you again in 2017 for the provincial election!”
